Attention passengers of flight 103 from Toronto:

When moving freely about the cabin, you will find yourself getting in and out of your seat. Please resist the tempation to slingshot the head of the passenger in front of you. To get out of your seat simply put each each hand on each of your armrests, lift yourself up to a standing position and move towards the aisle. DO NOT pull yourself up by grabbing the headrest of the seat in front of you and releasing it violently resulting in the pulled hair, whiplash and confusion of the passenger in front of you. Thank you.

An affront to common decency? Whatever!

What a cool idea. The Manila police are slapping jaywalkers and people that walk on the road with a giant wet rag banner . They should cruise around the West End. There are some pretty bold pedestrians out there that need a good slap with a wet rag. Was especially bad when it was snowy and icy. I managed to stop for each of the losers that walked out between cars but I sorta felt like hitting them just for fun. Hey, it was icy and they were jaywalking. That'd teach em.

More trips!

Life's not so bad when we're trying to schedule a Carribean cruise and a ski trip to Whistler in Craig's 2 weeks off. We're leaving for Windjammer at 11:30 Friday night...we get back at 1am on Sunday the 30th and are heading to Whistler to ski all week with friends that are visiting from San Fransisco. Not too shabby. Whether it's the Carribean sea or the hut tub in Whistler, gotta pack a bikini. Yay!

The weather today is worth mentioning. It's pouring. No. Really pouring. Is it just me or has everyone noticed that the weather is actually headline news. Doesn't happen often but between the tsunami, snow in Vegas and floods everywhere else, something's up. So it's soggy here...and a balmy 9 degrees! Crazy how it was -6 and snowing 2 days ago.

On the shopping front, when I get a new laptop, I want one of these with the shiek handbag. And a Dremmel-style nail file to plug into it.

100% Canadian

At 10am today I became Canadian. I took the oath of citizenship and am now a card carrying canuck. It was pretty cool, the judge came out and said a few words about being Canadian, then about 80 of us said our names individually, all said the oath in French then English and we finally all had our Canadian Citizenship cards handed to us one-by-one with a handshake from the judge. He was a friendly guy...not as friendly as the judge that my mom had when she took her oath last year. Apparently that letchy guy wanted a big hug from all the women when they came up to get their cards. We're not a family of huggers so mom stepped back and stuck out her hand for him to shake. He still winked at her tho. Hillarious.

So now I can drink beer, be polite and be a hoser as a true Canadian citizen. Sweet.

Nasty body soil

There's a Clorox Bleach ad on TV that basically tells you that if you don't use their product in the wash, you'll get sick or just generally grossed out by the 'nasty body soil' that might be left on your clothes. Ewww! My body isn't grimy! And my clothes are fine, thankyouverymuch. Just for that I'm not buying stupid Clorox. If I want bleach I'll get no name.

I am the queen of the closet

I am soooo organized. I have the killer acessories closet, a perfectly materminded third bedroom and have found free storage space for our Christmas crap and a few other things. Nice.

It looks way better when you see it for real...belts and shoes and bags, oh my!

Snow Day!

Snowed all day. Downtown. And it's sticking too. Traffic chaos. I love winter.

I like winter but...

Was out and about today on this glorious winter day...got the car washed cause it's supposed to be clear and cold for a few more days. I was making some xmas returns on Robson today and noticed that the sale racks had all the summer leftover clothes. The cute summer tops snapped me right out of loving the winter day. It's fun to rug up, wearing scarves and gloves for a few days, but I'd much rather wear flips flops and tank tops. When are we moving? Sweaters suck.

Resolutions. How predictable.

Don't know if these are resolutions or a to-do list for 2005:
  • Clean out 2nd closet and make a shoe shrine.
  • Find decent jeans that aren't $200.
  • See all 5 Best Picture nominees.
  • Gym more. (Soooooo original)
  • Clean out closet/pare down. Organize pantry. 3rd bedroom.
  • Learn to cook more stuff.
  • Eat at home more.
  • Remember more. Don't know what to do about it but I'm forgetting so much stuff.
  • Get stoked about upcoming 2 semesters. I feel like I'm just trying to coast the last 6 classes at SFU but it'll be hard work and I'm in denial.
  • Stop parking in front of the TV in the morning cause all of a sudden it's noon.
