Out with the old

Gucci
On my walking travels yesterday, I noticed that the new Gucci store has finally opened. It's in the bottom of the Hotel vancouver where the St John used to be. I could never understand who shopped at St John. Who wears this stuff? Gucci is good. Although I'll probably never shop there, it's nice to look.

Banana
Shock and horror! The corner of Robson and Thurlow, arguably the most expensive retail space in Vancouver, is dead! OK not really. The Banana Republic is closed until June for remodelling and last week the 2 Starbucks on the kitty corners were closed for some reason as well. To have 3 of the 4 corners papered up at shopping central was so awful that the disappiontment of shoppers was palpable. OK not really. But who's brilliant idea was it to close BR for a month and a half after spring break? Did they not think that Jan or Feb would have been a better time for this? Robson is packed now that the weather is better. Dummies. Of course, I'm dying to see what the store will look like.

Apprentice

tana
I'm hoping Tana wins, but what's up with her bordello madam outfit in the boardroom?

Donna Hay!

Donna Hay
Going to the Donna Hay book signing was loads of fun. For Mummy's Day, I took mine to a book signing with yummy Donna Hay food and sangria. She was really lovely and friendly. I asked her about her favorite restaurant in Sydney - she told me that it's Sean's Panorama. Note to self to check that out one day.
