foodTV is showing Surfing the Menu on Sundays. It's more like a travel show than a cooking show. Yesterday they were in South Australia at oyster farms and swimming with seals. And Curtis is better in this show than he was hosting the first season of My Restaurant Rules.

stuff on our street

There's always stuff happening on our very popular street...this morning, I walked down and checked out the west end farmer's market. Picked up some fresh arugula (rocket, as far as donna hay is concerned) and some yummy organic feta that's marinated in sunflower oil, sundried tomatoes and spices. Didn't think I'd ever get excited about making a salad...


Then just now, I heard some weird clicking, and it's a couple of cops on horses walking down our street.

Me 'n the celebs

Had a super fun night at Vij's the other night. Met a cute couple from Madison, Wisconsin that had just gotten married the night before. And we also saw Jason Priestly there. Then I started thinking about it...I've had a good celebrity sighting year.

In September, I sat in the next booth over from Keanu Reeves at breakfast at the Standard Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. A couple months ago, I saw Sarah Michelle Geller at Target in Austin. Two weeks ago, I saw John Cusack riding mountain bikes in Yaletown while I was sitting at Section 3 - he just sat on his bike right near the patio and hung out there for a while for pretty much no reason. I think there were some others but I can't think of them now that I'm trying to account for them.

My Tivo knows me so well. I got home today and found that it had taped Fashion File and Duran Duran live on MuchMoreMusic for me. Just when I thought there was nothing on TV...

there she goes features similar stuff to vitamin v but comes in an adorable monthly format.

flaresite has a monthly west coast alert email that I've signed up for. Funny thing is that there's a budget tool there so you can work out what your disposable income is. What the tool really needs to do is assume that you're smart enough to work out what you have to spend, then budget how many pairs of shoes and new tops you can get for the money (and where to buy them). Now that would be useful.

v spot is trying but it's sort of ugly.

I can't say no to sparkly things, especially when it comes to sewing sparkly things on other things. And I really can't say no in Dressew - I shouldn't be allowed in there. I think this sequinned goldfish is destined for a back pocket of a pair of my jeans.

I (heart) reality shows

Especially Aussie reality shows. I found a source for all of the My Restaurant Rules episodes. (Yay Adelaide!) And now HGTV is playing The Block. Love it! I'm also hooked on Project Runway. (I already know Jay wins but it's still fun to watch.)



What will I do when all of these shows have wrapped up? I guess I'll have to go outside or something. It is summer I guess.

To think that when the reality shows first started, I hated them all.

Back up your stuff!

It sucks when your computer blows up. I had such a good April (San Francisco, Texas and EI money) and a wee bit of a bummer May (hurt my knee, my hard drive blew up and no EI money).

But it's fun to put my computer back together - downloading everything and all. Sucks to lose all my stuff tho. I'm a dummy not to back everything up.

Where o where is the CD that came with my camera? I can't figure out how to get the pictures on to my computer without it. Wah!

It's a new month starting tomorrow. It's practically summer. It'll be all good.
