Apostrophe Ess

Oh, how I hate those apostrophes when a simple S will suffice. I'm not a word Nazi but this really really bugs me and it is happening everywhere. If all anyone is trying to do is pluralize a word, why oh why is a that stupid apostrophe in there? No I don't want drink's, appetizer's or martini's. Just give me food and drinks. Ugh.

I'm so glad to see someone bring it to a restaurant's (apostrophe properly used here) attention. This Georgia Strait food critic deserves a medal for this review. I'm never going to visit the Red Door now that I know it is run by complete retards.

Now if I can just get people on board with the proper use of its vs. it's...

lose some, win some

I *so* wanted to like Marmalade. It's a groovy looking little place on the water at 1000 Beach Avenue. I found it while I was running around the seawall at bootcamp the other morning. So it's a cool looking room, good music, good menu. But we waited 45 minutes for our food (and there were only 4 other tables in the place) and in the end we left without getting any food. We had only ordered pancakes and eggs benny. After being there for an hour and not getting any food, we gave up.

But there's an upside...there's a new greasy spoon on Davie Street. On the walk back home from the restaurant that failed to make food for us, we found a little place called Teresa's in the space that was the Bravo Bistro (and Octane before that). Another bonus is that Teresa must have bought all the plates and fixtures because our 2 eggs and sausages came on some some really nice square white plates and in 15 minutes. Nice!
