Hey, Vancouver is in Wallpaper again!
I agree with the list of things to do: Chinatown, Stanley Park, view from the Granville Bridge but, um, I don’t think I’d go for a swim at the Vancouver Aquarium.
Also, not sure I completely agree with the 5 things to buy list. Here are my 5 things that I’d make sure people brought home from Vancouver:
Something outdoorsy from MEC. OK, it’s not my cup of tea (I am dangerously allergic to fleece) but anything at Pacific Boarder is just going to be available anywhere else anyway.
A t-shirt from Motherland is cool but the experiece at Bang-On or The Regional Assemby of Text is way more fun.
Green tea from Infuse? How about Green Tea ice cream from La Casa Gelato or any of the other 217 flavors. I like Sweet Basil. Yum!
I don’t know if a ceramic sushi set is very Vancouver but there are some great modern ceramics made for Caban.
I kind of like Bed but I’ve never bought anything there.
They’ve done a good job on the list of shops, hotels, restaurants and bars. Everything on the list is somewhere I’d send out of towners.
