Now for something completely different. Luxury!

I now go to the Eyebrow Whisperer. His name is Nathan Williams and he runs a little beauty shop, Parlour B, over a high end boutique, Parlour X, full of Vivienne Westwood, Anna Sui, Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons etc. His beauty parlour is exquisitely done. All black and white, mirrors and clear perspex. Lilies and rococo prints. Lovely. Nathan is so good he is booked pretty much past Christmas. I asked him how he got so popular and he answered that all his promotion is by word of mouth and editorial. He doesn't advertise, which keeps any mentions that he gets 'real'.

The experience: He is very matter of fact, tells you what's wrong with your brows and what needs help, then uses wax. He is so quick that the consultation takes longer than the work. Nathan finishes the treatment off with concealer, powder, some color with an angle brush and gloss. I found out later that he does amazing makeup...if you can ever get in to see him. Now here's the kicker. Getting your eyebrows shaped with Nathan costs $60. This is an insane amount of money compared to $5 threading. But the results and the expereince is so much better. I'd spend at least $60 on a top that I'd wear from time to time. I wear my eyebrows every day and this is how I'm justifying it myself.
I'd show an 'after' pictures but I was so sweaty that day (it was around 38 degrees) that I looked like crap, except for my fab brows. Once day I'll get Nathan to do my makeup and then I'll take the picture.

I totally want to see your eyebrows! I'm in the process of letting mine grow back a little, they were looking a little anemic. I'm hesitant to let anyone else at them.
There's only ONE place in Austin that does threading. It's around $20, and she's ok, but man it makes me miss the $5 ladies on Main.
