Free People

I finally got my NSW driver's license last week and had to go to the most suburban mall I've visited yet in Sydney to get it. It's in an area called Bankstown which is about 15 minutes drive from my office. (I work waaaay out west in the burbs.)

Free People

And I stumble upon a Free People store. I thought there was only on in the Rhodes centre but turns out there's another. When I originally asked if the store was independant, the shopgirl in Rhodes said yes it was. I asked the same question again to the girls in Bankstown and they didn't know. How can you not know if your employer has other locations? Could you really care so little about your career or at least your job that you wouldn't know that? I digress.

Free People

I popped back in to Free People this week and found more bargains and bought a dress. I love it - a green and brown halter dress with dots. I guarantee Craig is going to call me Mrs Roper in this one as I've taken to bold 70's prints and patterns lately. This dres is no muu muu and I don't think Mrs Roper's showed that much skin as this dress will tho.

Free People

When everything's under $100 bucks, it's easy to find a few fun things. My dress was only $60. You get what you pay for in quality though, just like H&M and Zara, the clothes are sort of disposable and probably won't last for more than a few months of washings. The other thing with this place is that the stock hasn't changed much since I was in the Rhodes store. Granted, it was only a month ago but I might give it another month or two before I pop in again.

There's actually a whole chain of them. Last time I was at the one in Rhodes, they said they'd be opening a store in Broadway soon -- so much closer to the city! I guess it'll be when all the renovation there finishes...

Incidentally, they do some great alternatives to the chesty Bonds singlets so many people on the Vogue Forums are into. (I just don't understand that obsession. Crappy fabric, poorly finished edges, unflattering cut... really not worth my money!)

I've been reading your blog for a while now, I *think* I found the link on vogue?

Anyway, there's been a store in Castle Towers since the beginning of the year. Also, they send all their seconds/unsold stock to Cruise outlets. There's one in North Rocks and you can get alot of the stuff for $5 etc. Bargain!
