Uniquely Sydney Experiences

First of all, Bridgeclimb! So worth it. So touristy. Check me out rocking the jumpsuit last week with my Mom!

Then last weekend, I was supposed to be on a booze cruise at noon on Saturday. But I though it was at 1pm. Whoops. So, after rushing down there, I got to Pyrmont just as the boat was pulling away. I'm no quitter so I called a water taxi to take me to meet the boat. (If it wasn't a 4 hour cruise full of cheap grog I never would have done it.) Needless to say, I got a good cheer from the folks on the boat when I arrived. And the rest of the day was fantastic: sun, friends, cheap sparkling, cheesy cover band...good times! Fun!

Approaching the boat:

Next Obsession

Chandeliers!

If you're a reader of design sponge or Apartment Therapy, they've made many mentions of vinyl wall decals. I've always thought they were pretty expensive from places like Blik and Domestic considering how much they cost to ship to Australia. I saw the Domestic ones in Auckland they're gorgeous but were $300 and up even on sale. Spendy!

Chandeliers seem to be everywhere right now so of course I lemminged on. Here are 2 cheaper alternatives to get your decals...and to Australia!
  • Etsy Shop: One Up Wall Graphics $12 shipping to Aus.
  • Creatively Named Website: Vinyl Wall Art. I bought from their site..$3 shipping! What do you think?

    Latest Shoe Obession

Somewhere between being flat out at work and having dodgy internet connectivity, it has been 2 weeks. Where does the time go people?!

But I can usually keep up with what's in the shops...latest obsession: Marc by Marc Jacobs nude patent pumps...$500 in Myer in the city right now.

They're $363.95 at Zappos in the US...with exchange and shipping via Kim, they'll only wind up slightly cheaper than the $500 here. (PS I don't care how uncomfortable the reviews say they are...that's practically a challenge to me!)

So here's my question: who knows when these will go on sale at either Myer or Zappos? I want em!

    My love of markets

After posting about 3 really good markets last weekend, I only got to one. The Pyrmont Good Living Growers was busy and there was much sold out by 9:30 am. Mmmmmm Chili Jam.

Good Food Month 2006 Night Noodle Market

After the plethora of markets last weekend, I'll be enjoying the Night Noodle markets for the next couple of weeks...I'll be going a lot so here's my rule. Never eat at the same stall twice. There's too much to sample. And I just noticed that the listing says no BYO. Whatever!

    Shopping this Weekend

I'm excited for the markets this weekend! And haven't been to the Good Living and Surry Hills markets in a while.

But also this weekend are the Hope Street Markets in Surry Hills. Looks like it's going to be a real life version of shopping etsy or madeit. Woo hoo!

Victoria Beckham's feet are messed up

I am quite proud to say that my feet are recovering from the shock of the last few weeks...I am wearing my highest heels in moderation and my tootsies are thanking me for it. I don't generally have problems...I'm a perfect size 8...I never get blisters...I can order shoes online and they always fit. Yay me!

But poor Victoria Beckham...has to wear designer shoes all day and her feet are paying the price. I caught that show that she did a little while ago...was rather entertaining as she's pretty funny and cute. But her feet are deformed!

Check these screen caps - sorry for the low res but I do what I can...more closely now...owie!

And check out what she usually wears for outings...oh how we suffer for fashion.

    My feet are confused

In the airport last week, I bought crocs. It was a moment of weakness cause my feet were killing me and a 3 day work trip was looming. Who knew I'd give in to this hideous trend? Allow me to explain.

    Mary Jane Crocs

Remember this pic of the super fabu shoes that I raked in over the course of a single weekend? They are all beyond gorgeous but I think I've destroyed my feet. They are thoroughly confused and I don't blame them.

5 Pairs Of Shoes I Bought Today!

I've been going between the black sparkly super flat ones and the purple snakeskin super high ones. Somewhere in between my feet have begun protesting which has manifested in a sharp pain under my right instep. Ouchies!

So the crocs purchase was made because I heard they are the most comfy shoes on the planet. Let me tell you this is utter BS. They are no better than the flat shoes with no support and are going on eBay tout suite. My feet hang their toes in shame to have given in to the hype.

    Airport impulse shopping? Lesson learned.
